Landis, OUCH Presented by Maxxis headed to home of Cyto Sport for Cyto-sponsored Benicia Criterium

Oakland, CA - Floyd Landis will headline a four-rider OUCH Presented by Maxxis squad that will contest the Cytomax Benicia Criterium, sponsored by Cyto Sport, which is based in Benicia.

“Cyto has been a loyal and critical team sponsor for years,” said Theirry Attias, President and Director of Sponsorship for Momentum Sports Group, which operates the OUCH Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis. “Their products have been key to the team’s successful run of five NRC Championships. Having a team at their sponsored race is a way for us to pay tribute to their support.”

While Landis will be the main attraction, teammate John Murphy may be the biggest threat for the victory in the criterium. He’ll have the support of 2008 U.S. Olympian Bobby Lea, as well as Roman Kilun, who lives in nearby Oakland and has plenty of experience racing in the various NorCal criteriums.

The men will race for 60 minutes over the technical, figure-eight shaped course in downtown Benicia, with the race starting at 3:35 p.m.

Immediately following the race, all four riders will fly down to southern California, where they’ll be joined Sunday by Rory Sutherland to contest the Manhattan Beach Grand Prix.

I wish Floyd the very best. I’ve talked to floyd. very good man. i consider him the winner of the 2006 tour de france. If someone has any problem at all with floyd or the way he is riding of late. look at your own life.

Doesn’t anybody wonder how Floyd went from one of the best in the european pro peleton to basically a total non factor in the far less talented U.S. circuit in just two years? I do!

I agree. He’s riding lmost as bad as some random 34-year old dude who took a year off to have half his hip replaced or something.

Man, that sounds like big fun! Best of luck, guys!

I’m looking forward to seeing this race. Just a heads up, temperature in Benicia is forecast to be mid to upper 90’s during the race.
